My Generation Music Video
My video is more accurate reflection of teen life because it shows a realistic struggle that a teen might go through. My video’s narrative is about a student that realizes that a bully only picked on him because the bully thought he was weak. The conflict and resolution in my video is a more accurate reflection because it wasn’t as extreme like in other music videos. For instance, in my video the resolution is created with the victim standing up to the bully compared to a different music video where the victim might beat the bully up to solve his problems.
I chose to describe the design choices and effectiveness of panel number 5. The first image in panel number 5 is showing that the student is standing up to the bully. The angle of the shot is on a diagonal showing that the student has more confidence and power than the bully. Also, the image is moved so that the bully is shown to the left side of the frame. In the second picture the bully is shown in the middle of the frame and the image size was reduced to show that the bully did not have the power he once had. The first image shows a mood of power with the angle and the placing of the shot. The second image shows a mood of sorrow as the bully realizes that he pick on the student anymore.

Popular Culture Product
I chose the popular culture product, Axe Body Spray. The culture product communicates the desires, hopes, and fears of the dominant North American culture of teenage boys. This product suggests desires that teenage boys want, is to attract teenage girls. This product shows that the hopes of a teen are to have in this case for a teenage boy is a girlfriend. The fears of teen culture today are not to be left out or fit in. The product advertises that you will also; smell good therefore you will be popular because all the girls would be attracted to you.
The Axe Body Spray ad represents these hopes, fears, and desires. The desires of a teenage boy are to attract teenage girls. The ad represents this with the bottom text which mentions a “seductive fragrance.” This is directly linked with the desires to attract the opposite sex where this culture product is going to seduce the opposite sex for you. The hope of getting a girlfriend for a teenage boy is shown in the last step of the ad where is says “Gets You Here.” The ad is relating to the hope of getting a girlfriend because in the last step the guy is around all the girls where in the end he can choose one and be partners with. This is so because he already passed the step of attracting the girl first because the product has already done that, which relates with the desires of teen culture today. The fears of teenage culture of not fitting in or being left out can be shown also, within the text of the ad. The text of the ad says “to keep you smelling great all day or all night,” this suggests that not smelling “great” will keep you left out and in the end you won’t fit in. This is the fear of teen culture today and a teenage boy will want to be popular and fit in with a certain group of people.

4 Key Concepts
4 Key Concepts of Media
Nirujan Ganeshanathan
This media text applies key concept number 1 because it creates a luxurious reality. The story is about a wealthy business man travelling in an airplane to attend a business meeting somewhere in the world. The man is presented with the view that he has money due to his clothing; he is wearing a white suit and a scarf, as well as listening to headphones. Also, he is taking a plane to his meeting, and he is secluded in a private section or first class. The construction affects the meaning because it wants the targeted audience to believe the message of successful men wear fancy cologne and Givenchy will make u increase performance in life as said in the ad. The ad is for Givenchy. The reality created in this ad is that wealthy and successful men wear Givenchy.Step 2:
This media text applies key concept number 2 because there are two ways to digest the ad. This ad is for Mc Donald's. The intended audience are construction workers. This text appeals to construction workers because they know how much an early morning can be a drag and they usually need a coffee to wake them up. One way to view the ad is from a construction workers standpoint. A construction worker would view this advertisement as a pick up to their early mornings going to work and a Mc Donald’s premium roast coffee will help them ‘wind up” and be energetic. A student will view this ad in a different way. I would view this advertisement as it is not for me. I would not need a premium roast coffee to wake me up and get me going. I would interpret that I would not need to perform manual labour and therefore I would not need a wake up energy boost.
Step 3:
The game NHL 10 displays key concept number 3. The game NHL has in game advertisements for different companies. In the background you can 6 sideboard advertisements. You can see an eagle ad, NHL.com, CCM, Honda, Reebok, and Upper Deck ad. The intended audience are people you like or play hockey. For instance, the NHL.com and Upper Deck ads are for people who like hockey as a hobby, checking stats or collecting cards on their favourite player. The other ads are for people who play hockey, Reebok, CCM, and Eagle are sporting equipment businesses. The six ads are for different companies, but they are all connected to NHL and their game where these ads are being posted. These ads are distributed to the public by the game NHL 10. NHL profits from all these ads. The money earned from these ads can be put into more production of the game or for more profits. I think that it is put towards profits because when you are connected to the online service such as; Xbox 360 live or PSN, the ads change periodically. Therefore, the company can keep posting more ads and gain more money.
Step 4:
This advertisement displays key concept number 4 because it demonstrates a good value of life. This ad is for Ally Bank. The man in the ad asks the first girl if she wanted a pony, she said yes and then he gave her a small toy pony. The man then asks a second girl the same thing, she replied with yes and he gave her a real pony. The narrator then relays the message, “Even Kids know it’s wrong to hold out on somebody.” This ad shows the ideological values of the good life where truth and honesty are key. I share these values as a teenager and I think that everyone should value these as well. The message means that if a child knows it is wrong to hold out on someone, so why do adults not value to the same things. The message is communicated to an adult audience using a child point of view. This creates a deeper understanding that this simple value can be understood and demonstrated to a child and that this bank has good values. Therefore it would be right for adults to sign up with this bank.
